At the conclusion of an incubation program organized by the YSU Business Incubator, YSU STEM High School students presented their final projects, demonstrating not only creative ideas but also the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills they had acquired throughout the program.
Over several weeks, the students took part in an intensive incubation program, exploring key stages of startup creation and development with support from leading industry professionals. Through courses including "Startup Economics", "How to Make an Idea Marketable", "Technology Commercialization", "Startup Financing", "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" and "Startup Pitching Skills", the students learned how to turn an idea into a viable competitive startup.
During the program's final event, the students presented their projects, explaining their innovative value, practical relevance and development potential. In assessing the presentations, the expert panel highlighted the participants' creative thinking, initiative and progress throughout the program.
Two projects received grants from YSU STEM High School: "Learning Synonyms, Antonyms and Homonyms Through Board Games" and the "PatMtac" entertainment board game, which stood out for their educational value, innovative approach and development prospects.
Two other teams received financial incentive awards established by the YSU Business Incubator: "KensaBar", based on the idea of a biology-themed Alias board game, and "HydraSyn", which presented an innovative solution for a hand prosthesis. These projects also stood out for their creative thinking, practical relevance and potential for further development.
The initiative once again demonstrates that combining an appropriate educational environment, expert mentoring and practical knowledge can give new life to school students' ideas, helping transform them into successful entrepreneurial ventures in the future.
