The workshop titled "Discovering the World of Microbes", organized by the Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology Chair of the Biology Faculty in collaboration with The American Society for Microbiology (ASM), was held at YSU.
This three-day workshop was filled with hands-on laboratory experiments. At the Innovative Center for Microbial Biotechnology and Biofuels, participants engaged in various scientific activities, including microscopic observation of microbes, studying microbial structures, and determining the amount of nitrogen in different samples. They also visited research laboratories at the Faculty of Biology, where they learned about ongoing research and met with scientists.
Participants presented their visions for "smart" schools and universities of the future through a "Lego" game. As a result of this activity, winners were selected and awarded certificates.
The students who participated in the workshop were primarily selected from schools across various provinces of the Republic of Armenia based on their motivational letters. At the conclusion of the event, all participants received certificates.
